This past week saw our 2nd annual science fair roll out and what an event! Spearheaded by Mrs. Pond and Mrs. Rudolph, the grades 6 and 7 students presented incredible experiments, innovations, and research projects on a wide variety of topics that they were interested in. This week is a busy one at Nosecreek. On Wednesday, our Senior Boys basketball team is hosting their first home league games of the season. If students are interested in watching or attending the games, they are invited to come back for the 4:30-5:30 game. If they are interested in watching the second game involving our Kodak's (7:30-8:30), they must be accompanied by a parent. This will be applicable to all home games. The Japan Homestay program is starting to prepare for the arrival of 16 Japanese students who will be visiting our city and school. If you participate in the Homestay program you will get to go on a week’s worth of field trips throughout Calgary and the surrounding area with the Japanese students and Mr. Lafferty. If your NCS student is in grade 7, 8, or 9, and your family would like to host a student for 10 days starting at the end of May, or if you would like to hear more information, please contact the school and ask for Mr. Lafferty, or email him directly at [email protected]. Our students work diligently on a number of publications throughout the year and, even though it seems like we have hardly begun, our Publishing class has been putting in an incredible amount of time to work on our 2017-2018 yearbook. If you haven't purchased a Nose Creek School Yearbook yet, it’s not too late!
