Things are in full swing for the beginning of October here at Nose Creek School. Cross country, soccer and volleyball league games have started as well as many school clubs.
It's hard to believe that it is already the last week of September. With Fall officially beginning the Green team will be harvesting the vegetables that were planted in the Spring in the Northern Hills Community Association garden across the street from the school. Last year the green team was able to harvest 150 pounds of vegetables and this year they are hoping to exceed their record. All harvested vegetables will be donated to the Calgary Food Bank.
The Learning Commons team would like to remind students that it is open to students from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Thursday and from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm on Fridays. All of the books have recently been inventoried and are ready for sign out, time to start reading! Another important reminder for parents and students is that Pizza Friday will start on September 29th. Meet the teacher will run in 30 minute sessions that will begin with a brief overview by each grade team in their respective classrooms and then an opportunity for questions and discussion afterwards. Sessions will start at 5:00pm, 5:30pm and 6:00pm for each grade team. Additionally, complementary, physical education and resource teachers will be available in the main foyer to meet and answer any of your questions. We look forward to seeing you on Thursday night!
We are both excited to welcome both new and returning students to Nose Creek School for the 2017-18 School Year! Hopefully everyone had a wonderful summer and is excited to reconnect with both friends and teachers.
